The lines of your palm
Are laced with napalm
You will keep
searching for calm
Yet your hands will
keep you warm
From a world full of
harm.
Your path you walk is
only yours
Your umbrella cannot
protect you
From the puddles
underneath
You will weather the
wet &
Become a bonafide vet.
You will survive,
You are destiny’s
child
The roads you walk
will
Always be the ones not
taken
Not out of sheer
rebelery
But an innate sense of
revelry
So child!
Don’t rely on fate,
Your destiny is in your hands.
is what I would want my palm reader to say xD
Wise and beautiful words my friend! We have missed you!
ReplyDeleteParticularly the closing two lines! What a rare and special palm reader that would be. Absolutely the best advice.
ReplyDeleteWhat an invitation to the dance!
ReplyDeleteA lot of sense spoken there. Heed those words and don't look back!
ReplyDeleteWisdom all around. Like Rosemary said, this is excellent advice. We should always remember that to move forward, we must work to move.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed an awesome poem
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday
Much💛love
I love the turn on the phrase “you are destiny’s child” to resolve with the tried and ever powerfully true —“Your destiny is in your hands”, directly calling forth the image. Well written! 🙂✌🏼❤️
ReplyDelete"Not out of sheer rebelery / But an innate sense of revelry." Love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat closing lines!
