First week inside the green colored building!

If you think I am writing about a mental hospital U r partly right , but the exact location is my school which looks extra scary to the 10th standards!! The board has scraped the board examinations and have introduced CCE which is even more scary and for unlucky people like me who are planning to change schools boards are compulsory! So , I gotta cope up with both the examinations and CCE :( !!!! So, I took the extra flight of stairs (a unlucky bonus of going to 10th) graciously and reached my classroom...............
MAN!! It wasn't fun. Every first day of school everyone will have the funny tension of shuffling where we wait to see which friends are in our class and out....but this year we had the same class as we were in 10th.It was pretty boring and a the great SHOCK! I had the same teacher! I had expected new ones whom I could impress.....now I had NO chance of getting any grades in the discipline!!!! She would think of me as the same naughty and talkative girl from the 9th!!!! No amount of ice would melt her! Strike one for me!
Next, it was chatting time with friends(although it ain't allocated in the timetable!) OMG! they weren't  the same for sure! The mouths that argued about sharukh khan and hrithik roshan , argued about algebraic problems and alternative source of energy! I tried to chill them but they made me sweat! Seriously, that's the biggest problem! No one seems to relax they are making me also all screwed up about The great tenth standard !!! All the passerbys  also warn u when U inform them u r in tenth! It is as if we are telling them the tsunami is coming after us!!!
Then, the time table was announced. OMG! everything was going wrong! Even if u added P.T and G.C the day was with 2 english and 2 math periods!!! The table was designed all wrong and my wonderful teacher put me in the group I didn't want her to! After all I was in the same group for  3 years of my 5 years in senior groups :'(
Everything was going wrong but not ME! I wasn't gonna give up! The only thing my dear friend shivani talks nowadays ( except math) is about me leaving school. She can be an awesome salesman as she is trying her level best to keep me in B V M for 2  more years! For now it seems impossible but I will sure miss them! I am furious that fun is studying but I don't want to miss out on any fun! So I have been studying really hard for the past 3 days so that I can make it lighter for me but unfortunately even if I am afloat with study the school bag makes my burden heavier! My right hand has started to pain badly , what will all the writing and the few basketball game during the p.t periods!Surely there gonna be a lot of assignments what with CCE and a load of tests what with the board exams. I am stuck in the mud! but I will do it! As bob the bulder says "yes we can" and as spider man says " with great power comes great  responsibility"(atleast I have great power in my eyes! LOL)
It is depressing to know that I can't watch T.V that often and read story books.....Shit! I can't even talk with my friends during my last year in school.....but change is nature. If they can do it so can I but as long as facebook and blogger is there I am never DEAD! :P

My summer with books!

I am in the tail end of my summer holidays which have been dominated by my only worthwhile hobby -'BOOKS'.I would like to thank murugan lending library for the vast collection of library they have. I am gonna share views on the books I have read , they vary from natural chetan bhagat to the epitome of suspense Jeffrey Deaver to the easy going James Hadley chase and various other books.I am going to categorize it into various categories to make it simpler.

INDIAN AUTHORS
I am a crazy fan of chetan bhagat....His writings are very contemporary and fresh.I read his '2 states' and 'one night at the call center' this summer.....Like his other two books these books are about the 'youth' of the contemporary India.'2 states' is about two young lovers Krish and ananya who are from two different states Punjab and Tamilnadu. How they fall in love, convince their shocked parents and finally marry after a mini breakup is the book's content.Written in typical chetan fashion with his wry humor and first person narration the book is hilarious and witty. As I am a tamilian I enjoyed reading about krish's experience in Chennai. Many people can really connect to the situation of this book and finally the unity in diversity concept is amazing!Next I read his book 'One night at the call center' which is his best work up till now.Set in the backdrop of a call center it revolves around 6 principal characters Shyam,Vroom,Radhika,Priyanka,Esha and Military Uncle. All the 6 characters face problems and how they overcome it in one night is the story. The protagonist Shyam faces his worst situation when his lover priyanka breaks up with him and is ready to marry a software american professional. He  lacks confidence and his much awaited promotion is shattered when his boss takes credit for his project.Vroom loves Esha but she loves modelling, vroom is the rich guy who fought with his dad and his angry with himself as he hates his job and knows that he has just taken it up for ts money, so he is the guy who struggles with himself.Radhika sacrifices many things for her husband and she finds out that night that he is cheating on her and is going out with someone else.Priyanka has loads of problems with her mother and esha sleeps with someone to propel her modelling career and in the end snubbed..........All these people also face the crisis of unemployment due to job cuts and hate their boss. When a miracle phone call from god himself comes their lives start changing......This is a truly riveting plot and I found myself reading it through the midnight as I just couldn't close the books! This is  a must read for any fan of book on earth!!
After reading these stunning books of chetan I have started respecting Indian authors a lot and hence picked up a latest release called 'where girls dare' by Bhavna Chauhan. This book is about lady cadets in a training camp in chennai aspiring to became officers but this proves to be a uphill task for the girls as their trainers find that they were to cheerful on their first day! Where girls dare is a nice read with detailed description about the army life. As the author herself was an officer the story is plausible. The same theme about underdogs rising to the occasion is there but it still a good read beyond all the clichéd plot.Read it if you want a refreshing female point of viewing to punishments and fitness!

My Usual Books
I am a huge fan of certain authors like Erne Stanley Gardener , James Hadley Chase and Jeffrey Archer. I have been reading their books for years now and aiming to complete all their books. I have read all of Jeffrey Archer's book and I read his 'Paths of glory' this summer. The magic Archer weaves out of his characters can be outdone by only himself.I had tears in my eyes when I finished reading the book. The story is about George Mallory who is said to be the first man to reach Mt.Everest.While many speculate whether he reached the peak or not what stole my heart was the way the man was portrayed....His beautiful family and his sincerity and everything. The letter he writes to his wife his simply stunning.Just don't miss this book, many may claim Archer has written better stories but this is one of the few honest tales with no dramatizations your heart needs sometimes.............
James Hadley Chase novels are the few breezy novels anyone would love to read on a travel or lying in their armchairs. You can read the books for the title itself!! I have read so many books this summer that I can't specify one title I read! The plots are simple yet powerful and so power packed that you cant put the book down without finishing it! The last book I read was 'Just another Sucker' It is about a reporter who is framed and sent to jail as he doesn't accept a bribe. The story begins after he completes his spell in jail. High and dry, a wife to support he accepts the proposal to take part in a faked kidnapping plan by a millionaire's  wife for the money. It leaves him with a dead body and no money. At the same time he is given a job in the public prosecutor's office. He is in the team of finding the killer! How he sorts out the mess is the story! Reading it will surely leave your mind whirling!
Erne Stanley Gardner's 'Perry mason' although old is never boring! He is my idol for courtroom novels and the twists in the stories can never be comprehended before reading the full story(unless you peep backside and see!).

COURTROOM Novels
I read a lot of courtroom novels in the hope of becoming a good lawyer! This summer I read some Perry mason novels, John Grisham bestsellers , read 'jury' by Steve Martini and 'Trial By Fire' by Nancy Taylor Rosenberg.
John Grisham's books are really engrossing and different from other books.I read 'Client' which was really good.It is about a small boy who hears too much about a case from a man who is about to commit suicide, although the book is technically really good but it lacks a fear factor thrillers need to have and is sometimes dragging. The end is good.At the same time 'partner' is the ultimate thriller and moves in a break neck speed. The way Patrick gets out of the mess is simply outstanding! The story is about a crooked, smart lawyer who steals ninety million dollars from his firm and is on the run. After 4 years they finally catch him only to let him escape using all the technicalities. The shortcuts and twists are so many and so powerful that it leaves you staring at the book! This is one of the best books I have ever read and the ending is a icing on the cake............
Steve Martini's courtroom books is full of intricate details about the real life proceedings in courts. The book is about a scientist who is suspected of killing his colleague and the case against him looks open and shut....Paul Madrini is his defense lawyer with his friend harry who try to bust the case......The story moves slowly with facts revealing itself and the case being almost impossible for the defendant to win.The twist which is always around the corner is astounding but we have to wait for it and is almost too long........
'Trial by Fire' was the surprise package as the story about A powerful woman D.A  who is accused of murder of her parents who were killed in a mysterious fire 15 years ago  is simply mouth watering! The characters are all powerful and when the story is about to end the the big twist comes...This is a must read.

Deaver Special
I picked Jeffrey Deaver's book 'twisted' by mistake thinking it was an archer book, but it proved to be an amazing choice as I was left dumbfounded after reading all the short stories which had twists human brain can not easily decipher!I cant explain any story as it will spoil the suspense and no one should miss reading it......Then I read 'empty chair' which has Lincoln Rhyme in the lead , a crippled criminologist who believes evidence is god and is lover cum assistant who believe in people. They investigate a case where a boy is accused of murder and kidnap......Rhyme finds the boy with all his evidence but his assistant is convinced that he is wrongly accused and helps him escape from jail...........The turns that take in the story are wonderful but making Jesse corn a criminal is the only unbelievable part.....Ok! you read the books and understand!

DILEMMA:Waste or Taste ????

I was typing and still didn't know what I was about to post when it suddenly struck  me like all my brainwaves always do (which aren't the brainy ones you may think of, but simple truths which may
leave you dumbfounded!!) . I have wasted my holidays!!! True, holidays are for fun, to relax and enjoy. That doesn't mean not even looking at the direction where your school books lay, that too when you are in the period when you are promoted from 9th to 10th std!!!!
HALT!HALT! put on the brakes, madam! Why are you getting so scared??What's wrong in spending holidays like holidays are supposed to?? You weren't just sleeping throughout the holidays....True,you didn't touch that 10th std math textbook(yuck) but that doesn't mean you lazed around!!You read more thrillers in one month than sachin tendulkar's total amount of centuries!!Sometimes you helped your grandmother before she could scream and you have been working hard on your blog, so CHILL! You haven't committed a crime, YET. This was the other part of me.
Welcome everybody! I am popularly known as 'SEMI' among my friends and although I didn't name myself that I knew that it was the perfect word for me.I like most people am two inside and somewhere in the middle of the two paragraphs outside!!!Particularly in this post I am going to confuse myself in the dilemma : did I UTILIZE my holidays or not?? WAIT! why the hell should we UTILIZE an holiday?? did I ENJOY my holidays or not?See I confused it again!!
Coming back to the point, however I justify my loafing around, it is WRONG! All my classmates (well not all) have gone for math and various other tuitions and have finished the syllabus for the next year and  4 guys (no nerds!) have even joined the great IIT coaching and have finished their 11th portions. I accept with a sane mind that I couldn't have finished everything like them but should have at least revised  the completed portions.
Dude! cut the crap! Once an idiot no one measures the scale of foolishness! Similarly once I have decided to study  why should I count the pages?! OK. Coming to my point, what do I gain by studying all the chapters the teachers are going to cover?!The poor teachers surely wont like us shouting all the answers at her and won't the classes become even more boring? The element of surprise and interest is the only way classes become interesting!
STOP! How much more ignorant can I get??! I am grown up now, even if my other part doesn't think like that the teacher would.I am not coming to tell that mugging before the teacher is right but, dude! there is something called preparation!!In 10th std the teachers just don't have the time to go deep enough and they leave it to us to explore further.....so I have indeed wasted 2 months of my life reading novels and on the net...:-(
GET A LIFE! all I am doing is getting sad with myself......It is NOT a waste of time. The books I have read are all courtroom novels and blogging as improved my writing skills and typing speed!! What is wrong in reading courtroom novels as I am improving my chance of becoming a lawyer!Nothing is a waste of time unless Aimed to achieve nothing!OK my mood is getting worse as I getting more philosophical........I have learnt to cook or at least eat well with my aunt's help and I have constantly stayed in touch with my FRIENDS which makes all the time worthwhile! I have visited crores of temples and have developed my Hindi watching Bollywood films and doing some things only I can do during holidays!

POINTS taken:
  • I Didn't study sufficiently enough to satisfy myself.....
  • I have connected with my friends
  • I have blogged! :-)
  • Courtroom novels aren't that bad (but surely I am not fancying that it would help me better as it will make reality look very bad ;-) )
  • I did waste my time but not my taste
  • I did help my grandmother! (sometimes only.....)
It is accepted now that I could have touched my books so I will surely do it ( I have a week more, which is sufficient enough) but that doesn't undermine the fact that enjoying your holidays your natural way is never BAD!! Waste is never the word appropriate to use on your holidays but taste shouldn't be the only factor to loaf around!!Equating it by studying more than your level in the last week isn't such a bad option as it makes tyou carry fresh memories of studies and evergreen memories of FUN!!!!

A challenge with 'GOD'

A week ago I went to shirdi temple where sai baba was born. I have never analysed my religious views seriously as I thought I wasn't old enough and to be more frank I really didn't bother about any supernatural powers over me. I am more like me when I pray to god during hardships (like exams!!) .
Now, I wanted shirdi  to be more of a holiday than spiritual eye turner and my grandmother didn't help my cause. She was constantly nagging  me to do this and that for god. Then came the bad hotels and huge Que which I had to cross to meet the god himself(or his idol).Maybe if you were so religious you would have been awestruck seeing the huge statue of god , not me. I was thoroughly irritated as I could have seen that in the television screen outside the temple, even in my house as they daily broad cast sai baba's aarthi on T.V.
So, the vicious me was turned on. When I went to touch his foot.....I thought "GOD! what is the use worshiping u in huge numbers? what will be the great difference if I worship you or not???! I demand an explanation, why should I love you , hate you ?? who the hell are you?? how can I believe in you?"
After this I felt as if I had a huge burden of my shoulders.I went back to my congest double bedded room containing six people and carried on with my tour. The next day we left for nashik where we where planning to visit more temple(aargh).
I woke up the morning and went to have some breakfast.Suddenly something happened in my stomach.....the perfume in the restaurant was smelling like poison to me and after eating my first piece of dosa I threw up everything. That was the beginning of a long day where I puked everything that passed my mouth even water.I knew it was indigestion but.....something told me there was more to it.As the day passed I couldn't help but remember my challenge or whatever with Mr.sai baba!!.
Back in hotel I was  weak and tired.....my grand mom kept pestering me that I didn't pray to saibaba for a long time. Like hell! There were more crowd there than for any IPL match and u expect me to keep staring at his face or something?!
Then the idea hit me, it was rather lame actually, but I was desperate no tablet was working , so I decide to woo the god as I didn't have anything to lose.
Again in my mind voice(I will never talk, I'm not that crazy!) I told god ,"ALMIGHTY! you are the best! You created the universe and also by mistake created me, this idiot!!who am I to question you! I believe you , but how can I prove it to you?!" and blah! blah! blah!.I thought I had done the right thing.
Unfortunately, my stomachache only worsened and they even decide to admit me in hospital! My grand mom decided to not visit Elora caves the next day for my sake. We both decide to stay in shirdi itself. You would remember me stating that my grand mom was   crazy of gods, so this crazy women couldn't just stay outside the temple when she was so near to it , so she forced me to come along with her to the temple again.(!!!)
This time I was rather tired and didn't groan much about the huge line, actually I liked doing something rather than nothing.......I think you can feel the slow change in me,right? So at the end of the endless Que I became all sensitive and charged up (even with the stomach ache). I felt eerily calm after visiting sai baba this time and I felt god inside me! Don't think its some saint talking its just the feeling one experiences after really believing in god for a second.........I had new hope to fight my stomach ache and I knew it would go.I found that minute that I needn't have to prove anything about my belief, all I had to was believe it first!
After this wonderful discovery of life , my stomach ache was solved and I was back in my train. As always , my problem was solved I decided to leave god theories behind and concentrate on the life he gave.I knew that I needn't worship him like everyone or abuse him.I just had to acknowledge him from time to time ( that time is obviously a problem!).I figure that this relationship was perfect between god and me.My friend gave  me a call and asked, " So babe what's ur take on sai baba?"
I simply replied,"Don't you dare mess with him!"
(If u think my view has changed about god you are wrong read the thing carefully again. I always pray during hardships only!)
This is a real life incident with a bit of fiction.,,,,,,,
