I stared at god
With my sorry eyes
Was he a benevolent being
Even
after all he is seeing?
Or
just another soul fleeing
from
What he was actually feeling
In pursuit of a deeper meaning?
His eyes look tired
All seeing
Pain ensuing no doubt
A deity is a constant state of being
Feeling for all of humanity
I hear his silent prayer,
When he sees his little kitty,
For all my seven lives
I gave him a thankful purr
For giving me strength
We embraced,
I was born.
Oh how I love this wonderful perspective and the ending is purfection Samyuktha! Thank you for joining us at the Muse this week!
ReplyDeleteA lovely interpretation of the photo.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely! (Though at one point I did wonder which of the pictured being is God!)
ReplyDeleteTouching poem, and such wonderful lines:
ReplyDeletea deity is a constant state of being.
Touching and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully put.
ReplyDeleteLiked this very much.
ReplyDeleteloved how you gave us the kitten's thoughts and wisdoms
ReplyDelete" deity is a constant state of being
Feeling for all of humanity"
Lovely writing, your labels also tell a story.
ReplyDeleteThis poem is coming from a very cool perspective. Surprising and quite enchanting. (I think God looks at human folly and shakes his head sadly. Especially these days. Smiles.)
ReplyDeleteSam, I like the non-verbal exchange of thoughts and feelings between these two. I like the first question:
ReplyDelete"Was he a benevolent being
Even
after all he is seeing?"

ReplyDeleteUnique take on the prompt. Wonderful writing.
ReplyDeleteA unique and lovely take on this prompt.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful.......I often think the creator or supreme being must be very discouraged at human nature by now - we have not evolved in a good way. Your poem really speaks to me.
ReplyDeleteI love this line: A deity is a constant state of being
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem.
Beautiful blog, too. (I love graffiti.)
