We
are plagued by memories
By what
once was
Ours
to cherish
But not
cherished.
To collaborate with &
Not compete
against.
To
break a for given bond
Without
any thought given
Absent
mindedly
Like
how dusts of disinterest and distance
Began
to gather over us
Together.
But
we are still friends,
Still
as dead water.
Of
silent tears
Which
were (never) cried.
Ah, those memories, good or bad - friends of many kinds. Beautiful words.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) bad memories of a good friend
DeleteIt is good that we have memories, but hard to have some memories that plague one. It sounds, in this poem, that you are describing a friendship that is, for now, hibernating. Have a good day!

DeleteAnd now we've lost touch, they aren't on Facebook, and we will just have to keep on dreaming. I have one in mind who must have dropped from the earth.
