2021

We as humans have a tendency to believe that the current moment we live in is the most important/momentous/worst one. So much so that we tend to look at our 5minutesback self more rosily  than our present self. This peculiar trait is amplified the most when we post stuff like 'this year was the most soul sucking / earth shattering / eye opening one of my life'/ 2020 sucks/ 2020 > 2021. While i generally disagree with such statements, I am going to make a categorical one myself right now. At this moment.

2021 was the most challenging year of my life.

I think it started well enough. I was in peak comfort zone personally, professionally and socially. I loved how everything was but didn't want anything to change and I definitely didn't want to push myself. You know what they say- If you don't, life will.

and life did.

Nothing that dramatic really. I just contracted a mild case of COVID  in the second wave. I was and am lucky that nothing devastatingly permanent happened in my life. However, I was in a prolonged home isolation with myself for 21 days and that did the trick.

The thing is I like many others don't like to think about the 'big stuff'. I like it to keep it light and 'cash-ual' and keep flowing through life like that runner in temple run. Truth is whenever I have thought about my plans for my future or think too hard  about anything of substance I get into a full blown existential crisis mode. This is true since 2007 and I am just 25 y'all. Do the math.

When you look at something for too long it loses all meaning. Look at any word for too long it just looks and feels wrong! That's what happened when I started thinking about life in general.

Almost 3 years of life done after college, suddenly you realise life has no institutional structure. You can do anything you want with life. No one to tell you what to do. This realisation was terribly exciting for like 5 seconds before it turned terrifying.

Then I started discovering ways to just control myself and not think about things. That went well for all of 2 months before shit hit the roof lol The longer you contain the pressure inside the bigger the blast will be.

Don't worry. There is a light at the end of tunnel for this tale of doom and gloom. (even though it just might be the headlights of an oncoming train)

I survived all of the crippling anxiety and tension by making conscious good choices. Actions speak louder than thoughts. Doing is moving. By the last quarter of the year I was in such a good place mentally that I took my abrupt job change in stride (with teeny amounts of deserved drama) and can look back at this year with gratitude.

I feel like I have matured considerably this year. The fact that I didn't flinch by the word mature itself is a hint. (lol) I am ready to take on bigger commitments without flipping out. I thank all the humans who helped me get to this point. Y'all know who you are. I couldn't

Your Love is definitely my drug

My blog has completed 10 years of existence! :) Thanks everyone for the support.  Also what have they done to the blogger dashboard? It absolutely sucks. Sharing a poem which struck me when I was having bath, like Archimedes. A Eureka moment if i may :P

Distance has not dissolved my

Ever Flowing Love for you.

Now that time has evaporated

that seductive steam!

(oh! so seductive)

They have now crystallized like meth,

my feelings that had ached my soft core

like a rapturous encore.

And now I snort it out like Coke

Albeit aware that I might run out of stock

And die of shock regarding the loss of spark.

Being Wo/man

Reinstating obvious things which are sadly not so obvious to many out there.
On this ‘women’s day’ I want to state the following things : -

1) Feminism is not a bad word. It advocates the equality of all genders.

2) Like Emma Watson said , Gender shouldn’t be two opposing ideals but a wide spectrum accommodating every one.

3) A man is under pressure to be a ‘man’ too. He can’t show emotions , he HAS to provide for the family and  be tough and captain of the ship at all times. No one wants to marry a guy who is not ‘settled’. That’s sexist too.
What?!

4) If a woman wants to start a family and settle down instead of being career driven it is fine too. As long as one is doing something of their own will and not because of societal pressure it is absolutely fine. A man being a housemaker is nothing to be ashamed of. I was very surprised when my juniors were literally bullying their friend when she said her dream in life was to get married and have a family. Shaming is Shaming guys!

5) It is not womens day but women’s day. Please know the difference. Please stop using words like ‘feminazi’. It is a sincere request. It is a disservice to all the people who lost their lives and disrespect to all the feminists trying to express their original opinions.
The worst of the internet

6) While having a ‘day’ for something is a largely commercial concept to drive up sales and makes us ‘feel good’ , it does help bring the limelight on hitherto unknown views and problems. It helps create constructive discussion and debates and also improves awareness and make the issues commonplace. Only if you acknowledge it you can overcome it.

7) Saying that some issues which I feel need to be discussed more :-

  • Acid attacks on women and men ( to a lesser extent)
  • Marital Rape
  • Objectification of men and women in mainstream media and public consciousness
  • Legalization of Prostitution in order to curb Human Trafficking

Happy New year ! ? !

It is end of another year and here I am, like a clockwork mouse to publish my ‘end of the year post’. Only that, there won’t be a retrospective ‘2014’ post this time. My life is not so nicely structured anymore – college does that to you and seeing the year through my eyes will be too jumbled to be comprehensible for you.

But it IS the end of the year and old habits die hard. So I am going to write about ‘happy new year’ albeit a different one from what you’re thinking about. At least the one I think you’re thinking about :P ( and yes! I finally used albeit , maybe used it wrongly but love that word too much *nerd face* )

We are going to talk about HAPPY NEW YEAR , the Bollywood movie starring Sharukh Khan , Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan among many others. We are not going to do a detailed analysis of the plot , script etcetera because let’s face it – there isn't any. It is just a mishmash of English and Hindi gangster heist films which happens to be enacted by the most popular stars in India right now.
My problem with the film was that … it was so much fun! Does it really matter if a film is funny -intentionally or unintentionally? The fact is that, it is very hard to make a movie and make people laugh. The fact that it was ready to laugh at itself and offer entertainment is enough for most people out there. How else would you explain the 300 crore phenomena happening after every big star’s movie?
Silk knows best ,"ENTERTAINMENT,ENTERTAINMENT ENTERTAINMENT"
There are 2 types of films out there today – films that expect to boggle your brain and films which expect you to leave your brain at home. Most star backed films in India belong to the latter category. Why should I put effort to confuse the audience , when doing the same movie with slightly different dialogues and costumes earns me 300+ crores ?(100 crores is so 2011),ask the great Khans of today. Aamir Khan is the only one trying to challenge himself but after Dhoom 3, I’m not so sure anymore.

The problem with
Only hope?
'star movies’ nowadays (not to be confused with the channel of the same name xP) is that there is only glitter and stardust . Matter
doesn't matter! Packaging has become more important than the content. It is like most chip packets nowadays – selling 60% air should NOT be a trend or a thing. We as consumers should have a say, we should demand more.

I’m not asking for Nolan like movies. I know if we ask for that, an unofficial vernacular remake will be made , leaving the moviegoers and original creators in tears. Just put in some more effort – try to make the scripts more believable , stunts must be awe inspiring but believable to make your hair go up. The climax scene in HNY where they fill in water instead of oxygen into the locker to help them escape is laughably bad.
Still SOO Stylish. Legend __/\__ just look at him :')

Even a Rajinikanth movie needs to be believable – I heard the climax of his recent Lingaa and cried in horror- The modern need for mindless extravagance has not spared the great man too.

I know this movie rant is not going to change anything. We’ll still have regressive romantic scenes , cardboard characters , men kicking bombs of hot air balloons and playing out badly written scenes and I know that I’ll be cheering and whistling in the theater because I love my Indian cinema no matter what.
I know it is crap but if it is enjoyable crap nobody is complaining - too much.
But if it is something like this

Or

This

God Save Us!

GoodReads 2012

Mightily obsessed =]
Everyone is obsessed about something. In my case , it is a pretty Loong list - Kamal Haasan , Surya , movies , cricket and last but not at all the least ...BOOKS. Throw anything at me I read it ^_^ (ie if it has any visual stimuli to apprehend :P ) Also , I am a bit compulsive about recording , organizing and reviewing every book I read. And what better place to do it than http://www.goodreads.com/   where they do all the organizing for you , give a platform to review and discuss the books , interact with authors ( I got a chance to video chat with Jeff Kinney  - of Wimpy kid fame!!) Also at the beginning of every year, you get to make a resolution - of x many books you want to read , and keep track of it!

<3 =')
Ok that was a totally random advertisement I did . Goodreads doesn't need any advertising -_- Just spreading the awareness to those who have been living under a rock / preparing for their boards :P

And the thing about this year's reading challenge is that I am almost close to my target!! Not like last year's 52/120 but a more realistic 50/60 which i can maybe even complete :O Who thought peeps preparing for board exams would read anything but textbooks . And i swear , I did not add my text books to the reading list , for if i did , i should have added every book 100 times :/

Inspired by facebook 'trends' - I am coming up with my own list. This one is  about the books i was lucky enough to read this year and NOT some list about best books of this year as such - I don't do shiny new books .

Here is a bird's view of whatever i read this year - HERE
It is pretty hard to write about all the 50 books i read. That would need another mega resolution. So its gonna be 7 excerpts as 5 seems too small and 10 too long :P  and also because of my unhealthy obsession towards 7 tables =') ( after all the years of playing snakes in my dad's phone at level 7 :P )

Disclaimer - The numbers are mere numbers. Not some ranking or chronological order. As i am not qualified / bothered enough to do both.
1. 39 clues - Pretty much dominated the latter part of my year. To begin with it is so easy and fun to read! It is like reading an action packed movie . something like a book version of spykids :D Sure to attract young readers , it has found unlikely takers in stressed out older men/ women who don't mind having a breezy and almost a no brainer kind of a  book . The series has a total of ten books and it has another stream of series - Cahills vs vespers to its credit. The story is about adorable orphans Amy and Dan , the good guys who find that their family is the most powerful on earth. And they decide to give up a million dollars to sign up for the most thrilling life risking clue hunt of anybody's life to save the fate of the world. We get to goto places like Vienna , Paris , China , Korea , Australia , Russia , Africa , Caribbean and England and meet evil relatives like the kabras , Holts , Wizards and Hos . An apt book for a train journey ,which you can't really remember after a while - in a good way :) But please don't read it and ask for a logical explanation. Its like  questioning James bond / Rajinikanth.

Really wants to know what goes on in her head xO
2.Agatha Christie all the way - Although i've been reading her for quite a while now , I was lucky enough to discover some interestingly different book of hers. The Endless Night is one of the few chilling books you will ever read. The books starts on a bright note, with Michael Rogers , an ambitious young man getting to own his dream house and the woman of his dreams - who his also  pretty rich. The land where his house is built is supposed to be cursed by the gypsies and i don't want to reveal much more as I may reveal the spoiler. Even if you do know the twist do read the book ; i read it with perfect knowledge and still was taken aback! A true master piece . I also read seven dials mystery which has a fresh and energetic 'bundle'  as the female lead , very different from the normal miss marple or poirot. Even with Mr.Poirot we find some interesting variances , when in the ABC murders  he is forced to stop a murder from happening rather than find the killer who is responsible. And again a very truly imaginative if not far fetched ending. I strongly recommend you the read all the three gems :)

  1. 3.Growing up has never been this poignantly portrayed before . This can be said about to kill a mockingbird  , which is one of the stellar classics of recent times.  Here Scout is a school going girl in the southern suburbs of USA . The tom sawyer like appeal will grown on into you and you will be batting for her , when her brother starts finding her too young to hang out with and the exciting court trials and the mysterious neighbor who is presumed to be a ghost prove to be cherries on a very well made and delicious cake , which is to kill a mocking bird.  Another one of this same genre is the OUTSIDERS  a very realistic book on Teenage Gangster groups in America whose unlikely lead Ponyboy and his buddies/brothers are the proverbial underdogs who we get to know and root for. A Tiny girl's life is captured in A tree grows in Brooklyn  which tells us about hope amidst poverty and difficulties. All the three books are truly great masterpieces whose geniusness I'm in vain failing to capture. Please just go read them and share my excitement! :)

  1. 4.Mrs. Frisby and the rats of the nimh  will be the biggest surprise package if you ever read it! Covered and blurbed like a 7 year old's Aesop Fable , this book is all BUT that . Talk about an head fake! The book is about mrs.Frisby the caring mice and mum , who has to find an antidote to her son's illness before winter ends. She is advised by the wise owl to go and get the rats help. Now the rats are sinister creatures who have an agenda of their own . They want to start their own civilization. How? Why? when? Where? What? READ THE BOOK.

  1. 5.Indian Mythology has never been made cooler. Amish Tripathi , has proved to be one of the best writing talents who has emerged out of India. Immortals of meluha  proves beyond doubt why it is not over rated and why every Indian needs to be proud of it. We have the cool and democratic Shiva who is the head of his tribal clan and smokes chillum whenever he is bored \m/ He is called in to settle in Suryavanshi region , where people believe him to be the descendant of Rudra due to his blue neck ( neelakanta xD ) Will he discover the god in himself and rise to the occasion? Are the enemies truly the enemies? and will the nagas ever be defeated? The book answers all these questions and is a celebration of Indian gods and their stories, if not very accurately so. And sorry for forgetting the romance between Shiva and shakthi =')

  1. 6.Satires both on religion and politics made an imprint in my fantabulous reading year.  When i first took 1984  i thought it was a sci fi kind of novel which I would never enjoy.  I turned out to be grossly incorrect . Lucky moi! The book is situated in a parallel world where WAR IS PEACE.FREEDOM IS SLAVERY.IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH. It is what would have happened if communists and nazis formed a dystopian coalition . There is the thought police to monitor your ideas and the sad part is you are forced to believe that you truly believe something you don't actually believe in . A truly great novel which every person must read to value his right to freedom of speech and expression ; and fight for it. On the other hand Kiran Desai's Hullabaloo in Guava orchard is truly hilarious , showing how Indians are ready to believe anybody to be a saint and how religion is one of the most profitable businesses . Pick it up to if you wanna laugh till your stomach hurts xD

cutest shock faced i could find :P
  1. 7.No list of mine is complete without having a Jeffrey Archer book :O <3 the best author ever and my forever rolemodel!! This is what i wrote on Mrach 27th after reading the book  "This is the BEST book I have read in the 16 years of my life. Sure I am an archer fan , but my expectations weren't really high after the average only time will tell (with a stunning finish though)BUT OH MY GOD. I started reading the book at about 4 thinking I would read some chaps during the two hour power cut. Being lazy nowadays - I had convinced myself I am losing my appetite for books. But Archer just proved that my tummy is destined for unseen obesity levels!  Like another reviewer wrote , the book just sucked me in and didn't let me move an inch till the very last page , cursing the author for not writing more and now here I am waiting for the release of the next book.the sins of father , has everything a Jeffrey Archer book has. right from the prison accounts which are a trademark ever since the author's brief stay in the prison to the war and political aspects which are found in almost all his books. There is also the 'unseen' romance like paths of glory and hell! EVERYTHING that you could ask for.Harry clifton , Giles Barrington and Emma and Maise and surely Sir walter barrington maybe the most regal and awesome characters created EVER. It is sad how all the friends who help these characters die =( but someone has to die in the was right? :P   P.S - Semi is back to the reading business B| "    It sure did bring me back  to the readin busyness :D ^_^

Too weird to live too rare to die! B)

Co conceived by sunanda srinivas <3 :*

Yes it is happening! Right in front of our eyes , Semisharings or semi's stories and sharings ( however/whatever you want to call it) has transformed from being this helplessly cute infant to this slow but steady toddler. This lil blog has turned 2 years old!! =) and kudos and hi5 's to all the overly generous and insightful  readers who have helped both of us grow step by step ..inch by inch.
Obviously some negatives have cropped up - the writer is getting overly lazy. And even two posts a month seems a strain =/ 'Quality is always better than quantity' seems to be the phrase to use now , at least to console some souls. However , I promise to write more ; even though 'yours awesomely' is in twelfth now :O yeah cry happy tears over her dedication.
This is NOT going to be a blog post about the blog itself or some running credits. Due to the lack of posts  nowadays , it may end up looking as though the only thing the writer is concerned about is herself and the processes underlying in the formation of the end product ( which is true in some levels) . As the next step is to move on from myself and how this blog is being run and as their must be some substance to abuse , I have decided (very solemnly) to write stuff that makes SENSE. ( some may say 'finally' :P )
So what are we gonna actually talk about kiddos?
Something 'educational' to satisfy the adults ; ok don't run away already. Something which is known but not shown off that much. Something so dynamic that it could and most probably would change the educational and occupational system of India if not Tamil Nadu. Something that is beyond understanding for some humans with 'middle class' mentality  and that dares us to dream beyond the conventional 'doctors' and 'engineers' . Yes , I am talking about the hidden or invisible group of our educational system the 'humanities' group.
So for all those out there who still  don't know what I am talking about :
India , at least the southern part of it has high school or plus one and plus two for 16 - 18 year olds. And sadly a majority of it is filled with people who believe that their sons and daughters can only succeed in life if they become engineers or doctors. Yeah given that professionals bring in FDI and more earnings from service sector , but COME ON  - how many engineers does a nation need?
Surely not more than the amount of lawyers , social workers , FARMERS , TEACHERS , politicians (educated ones!) psychologists , scholars , sociologists , journalists , artists and a billion of other professions for which there is unmet high demand. And which hasn't been tapped yet because we all want to be IT engineers and fly to USA.
Not that flying off faraway is wrong , but then please don't blame India for being inefficient and not good enough. The point of the para was - Humanities has more scope than commerce and science put together.
What are the different kinds of discrimination we humanities people face?
Being unique is viewed strangely by other humans who call those poor beings 'weird' . Being the only one in Southern India to take this particular group and one of the few in the whole of INDIA to do something is more daunting than it sounds. It takes a LOT of guts to pick this line. I can't help wonder why it has to be this way. Why can't a humanities student be given as much freedom and respect as a science or commerce one?
To quote some examples from my friend's' lives -
The fat bald uncle of a relative O.o
random relative : What group having you taken ma?
she: Humanities , uncle.
rr:  what did you say ma?
she : HUMANITIES
rr:  You mean commerce?
She: No uncle. It is a different group consisting off history , psychology , sociology , english , political science and economics.
rr: Ohh ( as if he understands)  what marks did u get ma? Padipu varalaya? ( you don't study well? )
She : (obviously offended) My CGPA was 10 'uncle'.
rr: really? Why are you trying to waste your life? You will end up becoming a housewife.
she : O.o
no offense to housewives. it requires a lot of skill and patience to run a family. But seriously people like  that uncle (1000's of them) cannot be shown the truth because they are too busy trying to close their eyes or looking the other way.
Another accusation on us is that what we study is too easy.
  1. What is wrong with that? Jealous much that we immediately understand what we study?
  2. What i study TODAY can be used by me to enrich my life TODAY itself.
  3. We do not mug. We use much more brains and self thought than you when we discuss an Oedipus complex or if a particular historical fact is reliable and accurate or not =)
I am ending this blog shortly as I do not want to spoil the festive mood of my blog darling's birthday and also because the pent up anger is too much to broadcast in one post. So love you all and have a great summer!! <3

P.S - Yes a second part is coming up :D :*

Yours awesomely
Semi =)

2011

:O =')
Wow. What a year 2011 has been - personally and generally- it has been one heck of a year. It has been magnanimously stupendously horribly GOOD , with its fair share of -uh oh, I am dead - moments as well. Not to sound like the textbook, but the personal events make us view the more public ones with a different eye and the public events for eg.Lokpal movement saw many people reflecting their 'patriotism' towards their country. Whether this reflection could be done in a better/ more refined way will fall under a different post.
This year would have to be the zenith one for the cricket fan xD Yeah. We bore witness to INDIA winning the world cup. No other country could've celebrated this better than us I bet! ~ Every Indian would have his/her own world cup story. And being a CSK fan never hurts! We won the IPL for the second consecutive time much to the delight of crazy fanatics like me , who was sitting in the G stand and yelling 'HAPPY b'day HUSSEY! ' to gain his attention :P Yet we Indians are very demanding and expect our team to perform in every outing. Maybe because of this they prove to be the best drama queens and tumble down like a pack of cards when unnoticed . Eg . Ind vs Australia
Coming to our kollywood/tamil cinema , 2011 absolutely belonged to Dhanush <3 who won the national award through 'aadukalam' and gave us a stellar performance in 'mayakam enna' as the struggling photographer. He also panned out the mass 'Venghai' and 'Mappilai' . If all this wasn't enough his voice became the factor behind the biggest hit of the year/decade/century :P 'Why this kolaveri Di' B|
is it me or is he becoming hotter by the day? :O <3
We saw nothing of Rajini and kamal this year =( who better release a film next year! Earlier part of the year belonged to Jiva who stole our hearts with ko and thala gave us the rocking 'mankatha' .Overall , almost all the films were good and even Vijay films seemed to regain their magic!
Politically it has been a hot year with Osama Bin Laden's assassination (finally) followed by Qaddafi's killing. Closer home , our government redefined the meaning of  'weak' and the parliament is as chaotic as ever. The people were enrolled to act in a live drama called 'lokpal' which proved to be just another parody. Team Anna which seemed fair enough at first lost all its credibility when it started campaigning against one party rather than corruption as a whole. All this has just proved that there is a lot to be achieved and next through the next year.
2011 for me personally has been marked with so many landmark moments that one would have to wonder if it all took place in a year! The year started with me deciding to change schools , a breathtaking nice board exams xD , filling all the trillion journals/slam books and getting mine filled , brooding over all the friends I am gonna miss , a summer of surprises and sad twists and somehow ending up in CV.
Oh boy! How glad I am that I joined CV now. It has widened all the boundaries which ever existed and brought me friends and more friends - who I bet will remain with me for the rest of my lifespan xD It has given me confidence in myself and my academic abilities and at the same time smacked me in the end if i ever got to serious. Improbable but it has come true! Fun and school can be used in the same line without being negative.
The writer in me is also getting nurtured with better quality of posts (or so I think :P ) and more mature thinking and writing. I have come in contact with many fellow bloggers who don't mind sharing their trade secrets xO Also I have started writing in Youth Express ( a magazine!!) which makes me insanely proud of myself :P
I am feeling very very cheesy and nostalgic today ( maybe I shouldn't have sat down to retrospect ) So here goes - I THANK each and every person who has made this year special!! <3 =* the list is very long but mentioning a few names*
XI H - Suno =* , nomi xD , vini(i)! :P , Panchu B| , Shubham , Arunapallav :P , Rhea ;) ,Lavanya, Diyana , Hasika.,.....(everyone!!!)
BVM - The WHOLE skl ( lol I am not getting into any wars here :P )
Bloggers - KITFR , ABFTS , P.Subbu , GB and lots more!
Family , cousins and everyone!
* - the names included were just typed in one GO and the writers mood was influenced by her evil diary. so if your name is missing burn the diary!
and yeah! :P
HAPPY 2012 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nostalgically Wimpish

Definite nostalgia!
Yeah. A definitely  weird combo of words - well my life is weird. These holidays have surely been awesome , jobless and interesting as usual. My normal day involves talking, texting, chatting on facebook and e-mailing (it still exists!) friends. I also try to read books , absorb general knowledge/the newspaper and read/write blogs. However the latter activities which are approved by parents don't seem to have the time. When I finally finished day before yesterday's  diary entry ( Yes. I have warned you that I keep a record - so BEHAVE yourself or the history wouldn't forgive you =P ) and sat down to open the year book , my phone ringed its 'ROCK you like a  HURRICANE' and it was another person with another story to talk to.
That's why I think I am going to be grounded - soon.
After so many constant hours of sharing my voice , words and thoughts to SOO many people I can confidently say I have a lot of friends. And a huge variety in that too.
To quote airtel :
( Lyrics From :: Lyricspassion.blogspot.com )
"Movie Buddy.. Groovie Buddy
Hi Buddy.. Bye Buddy
Joke Buddy.. Poke Buddy
Gana Buddy.. Shaana Buddy
Chaddi Buddy.. Yaar Buddy"
If you ask me , changing school must be made a must! It will make some sad people who have no friends get many. Again , some may opt to think they are content with some close ones. What they are missing is that humans are fundamentally social beings - you may act as though you do not care but your unconscious B| won't forgive you lol
Sometimes when you live in oblivion in your present life for a long time and take a break to go back to the past - you wish you did not.
The other day miss x  met up with her long time back best friend Y. I must say x was having a blonde moment when she believed that things would be the same after all these years. She found out that time had changed them both in myriad ways and that she had run out of words to speak with her . Shocking thing was y was  blind to her friend's obvious discomfort and weird silence and thought that it was the part of her 'new' life. Well how much ever she would like to think that changes makes people completely different from their old self she is wrong and she knows it. We are all a product of our past, present and future.
Irony - x who was always brimming with useless words ( no its not about me guys :P ) found herself speechless with her own best friend - ok ex .
Moral -

  1. It is always not very wise to dig up the past or go back
  2. and to expect your friends/family to remain the same.
I rock! B|
But NO!! My holidays are waaay better and tell me that being in touch with buddies is the most fruitful task in life. So much to catch up about , so much more gossip to share - if I run out of stories he/she will fill me in! and it may always need not be called 'nostalgia' . Why not constantly remain in touch with them at proper breaks so that they are also a part of your present life? It is always fun when your present and past merges and blends into one!! ( Atleast till they stop colliding)
I think enough of abstractness. I was just chatting with some old friends OMG!! Sanjana who NEVER comes online - I think she has come on chat after 3 YEARS - was online today. and guess what? We were catching up about our 6th standard days and on mutual friends and I even invited her to my kolu. So she's not in the archaic category anymore. I was busy arranging my plans for tomorrow with some more friends when .....it HAPPENED.
what happened?? The focus of this whole post - the wimp. Mr.Hrishi Jawahar. 6th standard was and is the best year of my LIFE and one of the important reasons is the guy I sat with in the first row - Hrishi. I hated the idea of sitting with him - I wanted to sit with my gang. 10 minutes in the first day was all I got before the teacher separated me from by bestie and put me on the front row with this small kid. OK I accept I was also short . I still remember the days when I used to peep into his book during biology =P and how he used to get freaked out that we were copying lol
that pretty much defines him :P
Then sir suddenly decided to fly away to Delhi. I swear that I did not believe that he was actually leaving.I even filled his autograph book with comic grace. (The reason for my lack of belief being Myself :P I used to bluff a lot back then and threw a stunt like this in 5th standard to get some sympathy lol ) and when I came back 5 cms taller in 7th standard to show him who's taller - I got a facepalm. He had actually LEFT .
Facebook was not created then and I had other worries like my bestie not being in my class for the first time in 7 years and the other 'serious' issues of a 11 year old. So Heerishi was in the backseat of my memory - but he was still there. I took a solemn oath that if he ever came back I would give him a taste of his own blood. Years rolled , I had almost completely forgotten him , when a girl in our class randomly informed us that she saw Hrishi on the road. I did not believe it obviously - there are a lot of small and kind of fat kids in Chennai who could be mistaken for him. However rumors continue that he moved back here and was studying in St. Michael s which is only a block away from my own school.
I have a really close friend in Michael's and put her in charge of finding him - if he was there. She was a new student by herself there and didn't venture boldly enough to find a guy who was 3 years older than her.
Suddenly she changed schools and my dreams of ever finding that rascal was put on hold.   Happily enough for both of us , she hated her new school and within a week moved back to Michael's =O So now everyone loved her more for coming back and showing that she loved this school more ( or so I comprehend) Finally she got the sense to check her year book to see if he was there , however it wasn't that easy ( Idk why ) and like the Indian government I finally learnt about his presence/existence after a 2 year delay.
I finally learnt the feeling my parents get when they find a college friend of theirs who they find on facebook. I used to think the friend finder was useless until hours ago . It is nice to know that he remembers me after all these years , but thats obvious because I am unforgettable B|
friend finder ftw!
On a more serious note , people who want to find him just type his name and I will be a mutual friend so add him :P Also that loser doesn't have any security setting so you can see all his pictures to know if its really him =)
Every one of you will have a long lost friend . Who is he/she? Temme how you lost them. I may just be the help you need to search them.! =)
 I will Curse you!

I am really sorry to the people who don't care about this post. I just found a long lost friend , if you mock me you may never find yours! Ok don't get angry - I'm not a very perfect person :P my curse may not work!

And to those who expect more from the word 'wimp' . Google defines wimp as

Noun: A weak and cowardly or unadventurous person.Verb: Withdraw from a course of action or a stated position in a way that is seen as feeble or cowardly

and I read this book ' The diary of a wimpy kid: Rodrick Rules'  , I am sure many must already have! and I tell you - its one of the very true , real , laugh out loud books left in this age. So grab it and I am positively sure you can devour it within a day!! <3

yours nostaligacally wimpishly
